Well now we know why Trump keeps pushing this. He has a stake in the company. He has an interest in Sanofi, the French drugmaker that makes the drug. Like they say, follow the money. Oh, and major republican donors and Wilbur Ross have major stakes in the company. Silly us, we thought he just suggested it because he wanted to save lives.

Why is he doing this? Because he latched on to the idea and it resonates with his base and Fox and now he will stick with it until the dying end.

It really doesn't matter if the smart people know he's full of shit. All that matters is his Base believes it and all of his cronies believe it.

He's very good at going with one thing and sticking with it. This is no different than Lock Her Up. Same effect.

That makes sense. He’s pushing snake oil on people for a reason. Well, I hope when people take it and have adverse reactions that they sue Trump.

He's being influenced by far-right conspiracy theorists, just like a lot of other things, and using it to rally his base ... similar to the "caravans" coming to the border that conveniently disappeared as a matter of concern just after the election.

My further feeling is that there's a group of people who just want to pump chloroquinone as "good news" to impact the stock market. It's pump and dump, writ large.

He’s grasping at straws.

Like every bad gambler, at the end of the night he is doubling down in hopes that a miracle occurs and he can say “I told you so”.

Even if it proves to be effective, remember that Trump is simply betting the house . . .your house.
