Cool. OP said "grocery store run." Guidance is to skip the grocery store runs right now. Just stay inside. This is what we've prepared for.
Who is "we"?
Last time I checked there is no need to stockpile food. That's just dumb.
+1 I haven’t heard this guidance either. And I don’t stockpile food.
This is like a bad movie where people don't believe the tsunami is coming when the audience can all see it over the idiot's shoulder.
Stockpiling is so that if you need to stay indoors, you have the supplies you need to do so. That time has come. Stay inside.

Sorry, not sorry. Not stockpiling food.
Italy did not run out of food, we won't either.
I'm not going to avoid a store at age 42, running 6 miles a day, with an excellent cardiovascular system.
If you are fat, high BP, have diabetes, or lung issues, be my guest and stay away from the store (not like you should be eating pantry food in that kind of condition).
Just give it up. I'm not staying away from the grocery store. Not happening unless it becomes the law.
You are truly horrible.
+ 1 People are begging fools like PP to stay home and explaining again and again that you can be healthy and fit and not get sick if you get the virus but STILL BE INFECTIOUS. So all the people working at the store, their family members, and in the hospitals slaving away taking care of the sick, all who will be exposed to this huge asshole are just irrelevant to her. Truly shocking level of self interest.
People like PP brings us all down. She clearly doesn't care, though. Sociopath.
You really deserve an academy award for all your drama. I'm not infecting anyone you nitwit by going to the grocery store 2-3xs a week.
If you are going to the store 2-3x a week, you are not able to comprehend what is going on. You are probably really fat too.
You sound awful. This is the time to get your food addiction under control.
If you plan well, you can go 7-10 days without a grocery store run. It's really not hard.
And yes, I know someone who got Coronavirus from the grocery store. If anyone else has to get it, I hope it's someone like you that is so careless and inconsiderate.

Dumb as a doorpost. Glad you are not the one giving us official guidance -- I'll believe the doctors and scientists who are advising us to hunker down right now instead of you. It's a shame that you aren't just risking your own health, though. You're keeping us all from succeeding in this fight.
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:The infamous UoW model is drastically reducing the number of deaths and hospitalization than previously expected.
I'm not stopping going to the grocery store. There's 850,000 people in my county and only a few hundred cases. I'm not sorry you are angry with me either because it doesn't make a difference. I have to feed my family. We are healthy people. We are not socializing with anyone else. The vast, vast majority of people who get the virus do not need hospitalization. The vast, vast majority of virus transfers are through family and friends, not from picking it up in the supermarket.
How do you think family and friends get it? And why do you think they are specifically saying, DON'T GO OUT -- DON'T EVEN GO TO THE GROCERY STORE.
You are a sociopath.

I thought we were supposed to get shopping down to every 2 weeks if possible. Some of us were preparing to get by 2 weeks without shopping, and are nearing the end of that and need to restock. "Make sure you go every 2 weeks AND have an additional, untouched fortnight's worth of food in case we move the goalposts one random day" is not the guidance i was preparing under. Nor do i have the space.
That said, we can stretch until Friday, but at that point we'll be out of everything my kid will eat, especially perishables. So milk, fruit, bread (I found bugs in my flour today so i won't be making my own)....
This. I stocked up the last week in February and haven't shopped since. I've done my part to socially distance. Now I need to go to the store. Cat must have food, and I've gone through the 30+ cans I bought earlier.
I'm getting constipated just reading your post.
Why am I picturing a cat lady right noe?
I found bugs in my flour today so i won't be making my own)....![]()

Dear PP, no, this would be wasteful! For one, bugs are alive, that means you have good
unbleached flour, just like a bug in an apple is a good thing!
Our grandmothers were never stopped by bugs in the flour! That is why the invention of
sifting happen for which every olden recipe is calling.. sift your flour first.
May God's hand prevents you from throwing out perfectly good flour when people are
starving!!
Go to your tool box and check if you have any of those gizmos:
![]()
If so, just sift your flour rand you are good to go. If not plan B..
go to amazon and either buy a fine strainer, sifter or buy a pro flour sifter:
https://www.amazon.com/NPYPQ-Stainless-Sifter-Baking-Powdered/dp/B07TWR7Q42/ref=sr_1_7?dchild=1&keywords=flour+sifting&qid=1586142767&sr=8-7
I can assure you how I sit here, your flour has been already sifted for you and all the bugs were taken out and you just got a second crop so do not kidd yourself, just because you never saw them before,
they factories do sift flour for them. They are in most flours most of the time. Do not despair,
just sift. Repeat.
Are weevils safe to eat? Since you typically bake or cook the flour before eating it, there is no danger from eating weevils in flour. However, it is easy to simply sift them out of the flour first using a mesh strainer or flour sifter, though this will likely not sift out the weevil eggs.
https://www.wikihow.com/Get-Rid-of-Weevils-(Flour-Bugs)
If you are totally spooked by them, the old chefs' trick. .just make a chocolate cake with chocolate
bits.. see if anyone will complaint![]()
