Get over yourself. Spent plenty of time watching school ball, ecnl ball and gda ball. If they uniforms were all the same, pretty hard to tell the difference ba lot of the time. That's the ugly truth of it.

I’m sure you feel the same about the school musical too.

Compared to what? Pros on Broadway that are paid professionals? The only person comparing paid Broadway pros or paid soccer pros to kids is you.

There are over 58 pages filled with soccer threads. Here is the ONE thread that is about HS Soccer:

This is where people are of two minds. I happen to think it is a good approach for the reasons you say, however, there are people who have bought into the exclusivity model that ECNL and DA provide.

Image wise, while ECNL will end up the largest league in the nation, it will certainly take a hit on its exclusivity. For those who believe in promotion relegation your time is nearly upon you.

So, what this will mean for those kids who do wish to showcase they will have to be very selective about the particular team they join in hopes that they win their way into the larger quality showcases.

The largest leagues for teens will always be school based leagues. No way that a league that requires travel by airplanes, rental cars, hotel rooms, etc. Will ever be the largest league in the country. How deep in the bubble do you live?

School based is not National. Stop it.

But it's getting there. A lot of good clubs denied DA are in it.

And a lot of great clubs for boys soccer are not in ECNL. Why? Hopefully it's because a lot of the best boys players do not have parents who can afford to throw around 7-10,000 a year on travel. If they want to create an ECNL VA Conference, OK, but why do that when all of the elite boys clubs could play top EDP divisions. I don't get any of this. All this takes is for clubs to show some courage and not chase fads and leagues around. Plenty of local talent to keep everybody in the area and without making this a country club sport at elite levels.

Well, don't get to carries away with being a top 100 team or club when at U18/19 there are only 98 DA teams, at U16/17 there are only 108.

Richmond United wasn't on it. VDA wasn't on it. It means something.

No it doesn't.

It is always best to look at these teams more as tiers than a true ranking. There is a huge gap between a nationally ranked top 5 team and a team ranked 80th. The 80th ranked team is a good team, likely very well coached but ultimately likely just lacks the depth of player quality from top to bottom.

The difference between a team ranked 80th and a team ranked 120th nationally is not really that big a difference.

If the ECNL boys side has a representation of a 1/3 of the top 20 teams then there is an argument to be made regarding LEAGUE parity across DA and ECNL. It is not even remotely as close tot he pick your poison on the girls side. The Boys DA has a head start that they will not likely give up anytime in the near future. DA's only real mistake was in not launching a GDA shortly after the boys.
