+10 I really do not pay attention to other people's weight. I hate to think people are paying attention to mine.

But...Congratulation's!

I hate when people comment on my weight, even when I’ve lost weight. It makes me aware that people are noticing when I gain weight and I hate thinking about that.

Unless they are dangerously getting too thin. The only reason nobody is commenting on OPs weight loss is because they are obviously really overweight to see a difference. If you are 300lbs you won’t see a difference until maybe you hit the 50lb plus mark. It’s all about percentages. This is why whenever we’ve had a weight loss contest at work it goes by percentages vs lbs because the 250lb person can lose more lbs then the 140lb person without any health risks. I lose 5lbs and everyone makes a comment to me! Just saying . OP keep going !

Your truth is not my truth. You really need to open your mind a little more and realize not everyone thinks like you. Plenty of people get offended over being asked about weight loss.

+1 I truly do not congratulate someone on their weight loss unless they bring it up, and even then it is to acknowledge their efforts, not their appearance.

Ok, I will admit it, I did not notice. Because I value you for so much more than your body size. I may notice that you look happier or more energetic but i do not really pay attention to weight changes. But if you tell me about your weight loss I will be glad to congratulate you.

I am not sure I'd say anything unless I knew the person really well and knew that they'd be happy about me noticing. Some people might take it the wrong way, "you mean I wasn't perfect before?" It can be a little precarious to go there.

Also, if they are people who see you fairly frequently, it might be so gradual that it hasn't registered.

Either way, congrats on the weight loss! It's hard to do!

I never mention someone’s weight. It is rude. If I notice a friend or acquaintance looking fantastic, regardless of their weight, I tell them they are looking fantastic.

OP, are you my kid?s third grade teacher wearing pants and shirts that contour the body? My kid noticed you lost weight but won?t say anything to you because that would be inappropriate. I suggest you wear your new sexy pants on a date with your bf or husband in the evening.

Sorry OP, but I've lost 20 lbs recently and it's just not noticable on my frame. The only reason I can tell is because my clothes are looser and a couple things that didn't use to fit now fit me. I can't see the difference in the mirror, so I'm sure no one else can either. Plus, I have 30 more lbs to go until I'm at the top of my goal range.

I guess you make a good point. Though I don’t think you can ever offend a person by telling them they look like they’ve lost weight when you know they used to be heavier.

That's not true, I've been reading a lot lately about people being offended when they are complimented after weight loss. It's not great to feel valued only for how much you weigh.
