You are an awful person. Her kid has ADHD and instead of using the special needs trump card-as in: oh my rich, white kid can't help himself so it isn't his fault he is touching everything and knocking over things- she actually disciplined her kid. He then behaved in the store. No wonder there are so many bratty, entitled kids running amok in stores.

When kids act up, you take them home. You don’t cause a scene. You lecture the child privately. You never reward bad behavior; you just go home.
WTH is wrong with people? This is why we have such poorly behaved kids and adults: bad parenting.
Going home is rewarding bad behavior. The kid is bored out of his mind at Hobby Lobby.
+1 I never understood this.
Kids *hate* running errands with their parents. They don't want to go. They act up at the store, and so you leave to "punish" them? That makes zero sense. No wonder there are so many kids who act up at stores.

Parents, have you ever asked your kiddo to do something or behave properly and they've ignored you? Yeah, you're not alone.
To combat that behavior, one Texas mom had her son drop down to pushup position in the middle of a shopping trip at a craft store.”
What say you? Would you ever do this?

Hmm I never even thought of this. Like hell my 10 year old son would come in the ladies bathroom with me!!
It's all just so wrong especially given his difficulties. Like the shaming in the dirty bathroom aspect really was a strong part of the discipline.
Yes .. the point of the discipline was humiliation. It being published all over the internet was just bonus.
Yes, this is what rubs me the wrong way about it. Discipline shouldn't be about humiliation.
I don't think it was about humiliation per se. If she wanted to really humiliate him, she would've made him do it in the aisle. She took him some place where there was some privacy, and obviously that can't be the men's room. And she probably didn't want to leave the store just yet because she still had things to get done. So, the next best place was the women's bathroom.
I don't know if she knew a woman was recording it, but as far as talking about it on social media, she probably 1. wanted a bit of fame 2. felt she was attacked and wanted to defend herself.
