It was certainly smaller than my high school, but in high school I was part of the group of students who were grinding away to get into competitive colleges, so it was pretty much the same bunch of us showing up in most of our classes. Everyone (or nearly everyone) at Havermore was one of those students, so in that sense my world expanded.

On the other hand, if your vision of life at college is tailgates at the big game, Greek life and formals, and other organized events, small schools with Quaker roots probably aren't what you want. Organization is not an area of strength.

How would you compare theater/art/music at the two?

Every school is different but on the full spectrum of colleges these two would be crammed pretty close together. Far more similarity than difference. Engineering and intense honors program at Swarthmore are two differences. Haverford tighter relationship with Bryn Mawr and a way better nearby town are others. But phenomenal schools, obviously.

Aren't these basically the same school. Yes, Swarthmore ranks a bit higher. Haverford is a bit smaller. But all things considered, aren't they cut from the same cloth?

Would a boarding school prep feel comfortable at either?
