Let me be very clear about this: I adore Joe Biden. I think Joe Biden is a truly gifted, special person. He’s a national treasure with a real talent for comforting and relating to people.
That said, he is way past his prime, and it’s showing. He’s not up to it, guys, and you know it. Anyone with eyes and ears can tell.
Maybe the bigger issue is, as an establishment guy with a very long—and controversial—political history, he will not inspire people to vote for him. A bunch of older poll respondents say they’ll vote for him. That’s great, but young people (black, white, whomever) will not come out for this guy. Yes, even young black people will not come out for him.
Young people come out for candidates that excite them. That is not Joe Biden.
I’m against all octogenarians being president, frankly. I’m most worried about Joe, though, because people are believing this false narrative that he’s the most electable.
Just look at history, and you'll see that democrats win with young, fresh candidates that excite the electorate.
By the way, Hillary Clinton was the most electable, too...

I agree 100%. I have no idea why the media and party establishment is pushing this narrative. Joe has run twice before and dropped out one other time before it began. He was a 1-2% candidate. He did not get any better since he last ran.
Excellent point, which I failed to mention in my OP. Joe is a proven loser candidate.
I am so scared we’re going to make the same mistake again.
Biden doesn't inspire anyone. Honestly I think Hillary can still beat him. His only argument is voters want to go back to 2008. Maybe. If people want to go back to 2008, it will be because of Obama, not him.
I have yet to see a single soul say Biden excites or inspires them (like Obama, like Bill Clinton, etc). They always say, He’s the most electable.”
It’s ridiculous. It’s a mistake.

Not as though people said this about Trump and here we are
Anonymous wrote:Curious how old you are OP? From what I've read there is a sharp divide in age for black voters who support Biden -- that being that older black voters support Biden and younger voters do not (as much). Perhaps that age divide is more stark among black men as opposed to women.

Then the party decides. There's no set procedure.
Why are you all concerned about Biden's health, but not Bernie's or Warren's? All these people are old and Bernie had heart surgery recently.

No one seems truly excited about Biden.
I am looking forward to a period of calm. To a time of recovery from the past 4 years of frenetic lawlessness. To some healing.
So am I, but we won't get it if Trump wins another 4 years. If everyone is just meh about Biden will they be energized to come out and vote for him in the general? What if it's cold or rainy or snowy? We already know many Bernie supporters will stay home.
