Most of our friends have 2, with a rare few with 3. We have one under one and might end up with 2. Not to fit in with the pack, but because we have the same concerns as the other people in our circle - providing a decent life in a HCOL area, two full-time jobs, starting a little later, all the considerations that make going for broke in family size feel like not the best idea.

We have 2. We're 40 and rich but only wanted 2.

Most of our friends have 2. Three have 1. Two have 3.

We moved out of the DMV from Vienna and our kids went to school in McLean and there were a lot more 3-4 kids families at that school.

We have two. The vasty majority have two, but the 2 families we are closest with each have 1. The one family we know who is expecting their third are already overwhelmed with their two kids + two WOH parents. We live in a close-in suburb.

Oh, we do know one other 3-kid family, and the mom stays home. The older two are in church-based preschool.

We have 3 (youngest two are twins.) Most of my friends have 0-2, though there are several families with 3 children at our elementary school.

We have 4. Most of our friends have 3-4.

I have 2 in Arlington. Most of my friends have 3 or 4. 2 or 1 are not common in our friend group.

I'm 47 and my friends mostly have either 2 kids or zero kids. A couple of the families I thought might stop at 1 had 2 so that the first would have a sibling.

I know a handful of families with 3 or more kids, but in at least 50% of the cases, the 3rd was apparently an oops.

My actual circle of friends: now that I think about it, we all have one. Interesting but it'd never occurred to me before now.

I have two, and all of my friends except one have two. The one friend with more than two had twins after having a singleton, so she has three kids without trying.

Friends are way to varied to account for. But we go to a church (Catholic) where many families have 8+ children.

Where do you live? DH and I are from big Catholic families, but most of the families in our parish have 2-3 kids. The only time we routinely saw families with 5 kids was when DD attended Brookewood in ES. I miss seeing families that can fill an entire pew. I had 2 with great difficulty and we’re caretaking for 3 generations of serious health issues that make us unappealing adoption candidates.

Amongst our friends, most have 2, some 1. At my kids’ school it’s the same although DS (age 8) has 3 really good friends who are only children. There are a few families with 3 kids. Two of them have surprisingly big gaps (10+ years) between the oldest and youngest.

I plan to be one and done. Many of my friends have 1 or 2 kids. One friend has 4 kids, but that includes a set of twins. We are in our early to late 30s

How do you know all that about the other families? I was the room mom for my son's Kindergarten class and I didn't know all that info.
