I still don't believe there is anyone who voted for Hillary who is considering Trump. Let's try another whopper!

Sheesh. But tell me again how you look at a large field of qualified candidates and think no, trump's my guy? I mean, he's your guy if you need to shake down someone or get your buddy Rick Perry to score you some big contracts but come on...
I’m not the OP, but I am voting for Trump.
I don’t look at it and think ‘he’s my guy’. I do think that I am voting based on what matters to me. And, currently, Trump has my vote.
So you are a billionaire or racist? Those are the people who benefit from his plans.
A billionaire? Don't I wish. Not in a million years. My HHI is under $140K and we live in Silver Spring, MD. My kids go to a high FARMS/high ESOL school. So, I see on a daily basis how illegal immigration affects my life and I'm voting based on that.

There has never been a perfect candidate. It's quite often choosing between the lesser of two evils. That's the reality. You don't stay home and you don't vote 3rd party. Don't give others your power.
And in 2020, the big question is do you accept the GOP and all of its lies and corruption -- or not? If you are not OK with that, you vote D.
2020 isn't about specific policies as much as its about trying to save our country from the cheaters.
Yes, but it’s also about making sure Dems don’t go too far left. And that’s what the primary is about.
Yes, agree that the primary is your chance to voice that. Not the general.

Another person missing the point. This is a thread about Democrats not identifying with current Dem candidates & their ideology. Many many Democrats would be in this category. This is not a thread about Democrats who like Trump. Every democrat I know hates Trump, but that doesn’t mean they like Bernie Sanders/AOC platform either.
This is me. I don't like Trump, but I REALLY don't like the Sanders/AOC/Harris platform at all. Ten hour school days from Kamala Harris? No thanks.
Interestingly, many of my Jewish/Israeli friends who always tended to vote Democratic are re-thinking their position in the Democratic party. Can you blame them?
We older Democrats who voted for Hillary see the Rolling Stone cover with Pelosi and Omar and AOC. That lets people know, loud and clear, where the Democratic party wants to go, and who it wants to leave behind.

However, as the Democrats moved further to the left and I saw firsthand how the culture and policies of dependency impacted my family, I identified less and less with Democrats (I'm also a closeted pro-lifer and I'm not very sympathetic to illegal immigration so that doesn't help in today's Democratic Party). However, the current GOP is repulsive and amoral and there's no way in heck I can support their agenda which I think is chipping away at our democracy. I'm not going to vote Republican (haven't since Bush at the national level), but I don't feel wanted by the Democrats, so I feel lost. Voting for a 3rd party might feel emotionally right but won't help to solve our nation's problems. Is anyone else feeling lost and disillusioned in today's political world? If so, how are you coping with it?
OP, this is me also.
Have voted Democrat in ALL the last presidential elections.
Agree that the Democrats have gone so far off the rails, and that I absolutely do not feel that they care about or want my vote.
I am actually going to be voting for Trump in the next election. I don’t like him as a person, but I can say that about many people I work with.
It is what it is.
Pick what issues matter most to you and vote based on those. Agree that you will not align completely with any candidate.
Such a predictable script.
Indeed. Anyone who would think that Trump would be a better pick for the country after what he has pulled is either brain-dead or completely amoral. Period. End of discussion.
Do you even hear yourself? Do you hear how much you sound like the Taliban? Or fundamentalist Christians?
No thanks. I'll keep my 'amoral' vote for Trump.

Really?
Why? You do that to your own detriment. Come on, guys. Get real. I’m 100% certain OP is legit because I know a lot of people just like OP.
Yep.
I think some posters need to get out of their liberal bubble and see that there are people who think differently than they do.
I don't disagree with the existence of the liberal bubble, but you have to be a giant dummy not to see that the current perception of the Democratic party as being "too far left" is being driven by GOP propaganda, and not the actual messaging. If you are getting your news from Fox and believe that all the Democratic candidates are for immediate abolition of the border and don't care about the coming brown menace ... well then, I don't think the problem is the liberal bubble.

I read somewhere that Trump and the RNC have raised something $330 million. There are likely many brain dead and amoral people out there apparently, according to you.
Most of that is not from small, individual donors.
