Husband love the idea of Subaru's for years but after tow that just did not hold up and fell apart well before their time at 130K miles he went with a Honda. We both traded in cars recently same model year, his car had 30K less miles than mine yet he got $2500 less than I got for my car. We most maintain our cars well/follow scheduled maintenance.

Another gasket leak owner here. To be fair, it was a 2005 Forester, which I bought new. Had it for 8 years before oil was leaking all over and $3,000-$4,000 to fix. I had no idea Subarus from that time period weren't super reliable like all their feel-good ads claim.

I went back to a Honda. No more Subarus for me.

It's not a demand problem; it's supply. Subaru can barely produce its vehicles fact enough. The company has elected not to raise capacity. I don't get what you're referring to wrt resale value; there are few low-mileage Subarus on the resale market.

Yeah, just like the CVT thing. And the wheel bearing thing. And the CV joints thing.

All of them old wives tales.


I know this for certain, because I’ve had to fix all of them on my old wife’s Subarus.


+1. Had a gasket issue and wheel bearing issues. Bought it used so thought it was just that particular car. Bought another one new after the first one died and now having wheel bearing issues. No more Subarus for me.
