Did they overpower a government?
Yes. Overpowered the French colonial government and killed most of the rich plantation owners. In India, they did it without weapons.
Once the vast majority of people become so poor and disenfranchised, they resort to revolution by one means or another.
I'm really surprised conservatives are supporting gun ownership for this reason, since they will be the "rich" party being rebelled against, weird flex, but ok. Unless many of these conservatives are getting their info from employees in Russia, then it makes sense.

People shoot them. People are easily influenced and manipulated by the press and now, social media (re: Cambridge Analytica / FB). Propaganda is the weapon of the most dangerous minds throughout history. Russia is doing it now and will continue to do it, because we are so susceptible. if you plot the data, the rise of social media and the rise of mass shootings occur over the same time periods. So perhaps, we should all think about solutions that work, not those that might seem convenient. It is probably time to regulate these sites more heavily
How do you secure the freedom of the press? In what fantasy land will an oppressive government with their armed thugs plan to storm a newspaper publisher and turn around dejected after reading a sign that says: "Freedom of the Press!"

Did they overpower a government?
Yes.
They kicked out the French.
Not because they had the right to bear arms though
.
India/Pakistan did it without guns.
MLK did it without guns
Hungary and Czechoslovakia tried it with guns and failed. When they tried it without guns it succeeded.
MLK did what?

Ok. History lesson. The England and the Monarch was the government. Moron. You literally missed the point of what the revolution was about. Holy Jesus you are dumb.

Whomever posted this (above) is a class-A idiot. A really low-information type. Belly laughs on this part, especially "would have been a nightmare for them to even try."
Yep, mountain warfare is a walk in the park. That's why we've been kicked the Taliban's ass in Afghanistan for 18 years!

SCOTUS disagrees.
Even the anti-gun Giffords law center correctly recites that SCOTUS found an individual right to own a firearm in DC v Heller.

It doesn't matter what you or I think, its what 9 unelected people in black robes think.
That doesn't mean it can't be regulated and the opinion isn't conclusive on types of firearms. It also doesn't give a right to import.
