"Muffy" is a nickname. "muffy" is actually usually Mary, Margaret, etc.

Bitsy, Mimi, Bunny, Topsy, etc. are also nicknames. My family insisted on calling me "Mimi" when I was growing up and I hated it.

I went to high school - New England prep school in the 80s - with a girl named Muffy.

Right- but now it's not a NE prep name anymore.

Muffy is not a new-money southern prep name. It's an old, vintage nickname.

Yep. They're LMC Rhode Islanders. He never attended college at all, not even Community College. If he was a real UMC+ prep, he would DEFINITELY have attended four year college.

This is a guy who probably has never set foot on a boarding school campus or even the campus of Providence's private day schools (Wheeler, Lincoln), let alone an Ivy League Campus. Maybe one time he got lost in Providence and accidentally went onto the Brown Campus.


You guys are nuts. I WENT to a Providence private day school (Wheeler, Lincoln) and I think they are totally fine. You don't have to be a total ascetic to be a New England prep. And going to URI def does not rule you out of being part of that class.
