Are you part of the RMSC Parent FB page? Maybe some there can guide you better. Swimming with NTGs is a time intensive activity. You can see if any parents have swimmers that have/are attending a magnet program.

I tried looking, can you please share the link?

PP: Never mind, I was looking for RMIB parent page. Anyone?

There’s a RMIB Foundation FB page

Doesn't IB require certain activities which sports can count for?

How is he in NTGs as an 8th grader?

DP .. I do know of one IB student who swims for RMSC.

NTGs starts in 9th grade, unless the kid has an older birthday (redshirted). That's why I'm confused about PP's statement. Someone that was accepted into RMIB would be currently in 8th grade, correct?

NTG/Advanced Seniors/Seniors start at 13 according to RMSC It is true --hardly middle school kids make to NTG, often they stay in NDG (which they have to move out).

OP may already know the kid will swim NTG next season.

I know RMIB kids who swim for Machine. School is work, but not all encompassing. Most kids are in clubs & activities too.
