Good observation! I've only watched a couple of those shows, but yes, the overweight people are always trying to get in/out of trucks like that.


I think the show actually rents them to these ppl because they need a vehicle to safely fit crew members plus the person plus film equipment. I’m the big truck owner. My civic has a max load capacity of around 800 lbs. which would be exceeded with the big person plus two cameramen and their film equipment.

Good observation! I've only watched a couple of those shows, but yes, the overweight people are always trying to get in/out of trucks like that.

Ford F-150s are the most common car driven by high income earners (over $500K), FWIW.

Hahaha. I just bought the smaller version of this truck, OP. Never had a truck and just wanted to try one out. The full-size Denali is quite nice in the cabin. Honestly never thought about its tackiness quotient.

An antique vehicle is a very odd choice for someone who isn’t a car nut...is he going to go to antique car shows and meetups? Does he have friends into that?

Lots of people have these behemoth vehicles in the DC burbs. They can barely park, much less down in the District.

If he wants to try it, and you don't have to pay for it, you might want to let him get it out of his system. Yes, he will look ridiculous.

I wish my H's midlife crisis car were a pickup truck. He's about to buy a ridiculously expensive collectible car, circa 1937. He doesn't know the first thing about cars--doesn't even replace his own windshield wiper fluid. I'm rolling my eyes (but in silence).
