Some women may not have a choice about becoming pregnant. In societies where women do not have a choice about becoming pregnant, they do not have a choice about ending the pregnancy.

Sexual violence is a known tactic among many paramilitary groups. It was specifically used in Bosnia and Rwanda. It is also a tactic used by abusers to trap women in relationships.

Good book related to this subject is Empty Planet by Darrell Bricker. Basically says that it has to do with women's education. Birth rates all over the world are drastically falling, and yes, they will even begin falling in Africa. China is already imploding, as is most of the developed world.

The U.S.A's competitive advantage is that we import many immigrants (just wish we were more selective versus whoever can make it across the border) and are maintaining our population. South Korea is already in real trouble.

These refugees will almost immediately adjust their birthrate to their host country's birthrate - which in big cties is often below the replinishment rate.

Education is ONE issue of many. Culture, circumstance, a whole bunch of other things. Look at birth rates and demographics close to home. It’s perfect if you can both access and afford birth control, which a lot of people who don’t live that far from you can’t. Imagine then coming from a culture where marital rape is acceptable (also closer to home than you think), and a country where women are not even considered real citizens.

Have you tried getting your birth control prescription filled in a war torn region, refugee camp, or while actively fleeing a country? Sometimes a convenient CVS is hard to find. Also, it’s just a myth that the body has a way of just shutting that whole thing down if it’s a legitimate rape.

I assume you are speaking of refugees and not immigrants who are coming on H-1B and student visas. The immigrants who were coming on H-1B visas and student visas are highly educated. The immigrants coming as refugees fleeing unstable countries mostly are not.

Refugees came from over 60 countries in 2018, but the ones in the news being held in the internment camps along our southern boarder are from latin america.

from the OP: I am probably going to get flamed for this, but I see so many heartbreaking stories of refugees and many have very young children or babies. I guess I don't really understand if you are in an environment where you need to flee your circumstances why you would continue to have children. Why would you continue to bring new children into those situations?
