Yes, but the GT expert's report they used as guidance to present to the board made it clear that eliminating criteria-based advanced programs is not best practice and will hurt the school system in the long run by causing UMC parents to leave the system and hurt low income highly able students by not allowing them access to appropriate curriculum.

Central admins only presented info about Phase I changes starting in the fall. One of the board members asked about additional planned programs and was told the board would hear more in the future. The central office hasn't even worked out the catchment areas for the new regional centers yet.
