She never cooked anything tasty or unusual or flavorful at home. Just ate small yogurts or cold things and boiled things.
+1
Bizarre.

But, there is also another possibility, they are driven women, and many driven women have a ton of restless energy. You ever see that person that is always tapping her leg when in a restaurant? She is generals skinny, all my friends that are like this are. And those women that are always walking fast, no matter where? Generally skinny. Now, all this eating a lot of food is more a trend for poor and MC who watch tv and commercial and are prone to consumerism. If they are very old, they never got the idea to be gluttons. I think that is what it really comes down to, we are all gluttons and these old skinny, rich women never fell for the consumerism. Getting heavy is letting yourself go, as I wrote about the royals today, letting yourself go is shameful and for the "masses," in their minds. See, when people say, "my mother eats like a bird," that really means that this person is eating plenty to have energy and survive, but not engaging in gluttony, which is how it seems to all of us with skewed food attitudes.

My elderly neighbor was plump. Not fat, just plump. She got cancer and now is near skeletal. I can't imagine if she hadnt had that extra weight.

This.
I've seen Nancy Pelosi in the Members dining room on the Hill a number of times, and she only has hot water with lemon (I heard her order it). This is during lunch and her guests are eating full meals.
My SIL is rich and skinny. She had an eating disorder in college (was hospitalized). Only gained 17lbs when pregnant. She runs every day (miles), drinks tons of water, and only nibbles 3x a day. Breakfast used to be black coffee, but now it's just hot water with lemon. It's not normal. She's a size 2. No butt.

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:They don't eat. Really. My mil is not that wealthy but she eats like one hard boiled egg for breakfast. A can of tuna and some crackers for lunch and a tiny chicken breast and some broccoli for dinner. She suppressed her appetite so much. She's a little obsessed with it and enjoys being hungry. She also works out 4-6 times a week. My poor Fil is on the same diet. They never have leftovers or red meat or bowls of pasta. Unless it's our house and then they demolish 3 servings of everything including ice cream.
Rich older women don’t exercise. Don’t be ridiculous.

What pills exactly?
Valium.

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:My MIL has always been like this. I bet there are only a handful of times in her adult life where she's eaten more than 1,200 calories a day. Most days, she probably eats about half of that. She also smoked cigarettes regularly for most of her life and drank at least ten cups of black coffee every day when she was younger. She has serious health problems now and no longer smokes because of that, but she still restricts her calories. There is never any food in her house except for nonfat cottage cheese, broccoli, and some fruit. My FIL sneaks out to restaurants pretty regularly to get a steak and I don't blame him.
OP here: I totally believe this, and from what I gather in this area women eat very small portions. It is the maintenance of this diet that seems really difficult. Like how these older women don‘t just start bingeing one day because their bodies need more. But maybe it’s not as hard to maintain as I think.
Borderline ED over here (as I assume a vast majority of women are). You just get used to it. And frankly I think people generally eat way more calories than necessary (including me, most of the time).
