I always think of Simon and Oliver as wussy boy names too. Owen doesn’t seem wussy to me, but Spencer, Liam, and Elliott do. Someone suggested Oliver to me for DS#2 and I had to work to keep a neutral, non-cringe face.
Like Stacey, Leslie, Carol, ...?

It doesn't bother me in the slightest. We love the name, and my primary concern in choosing a name was that they'd be other girls in her class with the same name! Haven't met another one so far!
I'm a child of the 80s and there were 4 other girls in my year with the same name. I didn't like always having to be referred to with my last initial.
Funny. I have a name like that. Love being called by my last name, and even when I moved away, and there wasn't someone else with my name in college, people called me by my first name and last initial. It's kinda cool.

My name is on here! I assume pretty much with every name - some people will like it and others won't
There are just names that for either reasons of personal association or how they sound - someone doesn't like. That isn't a personal attack on you or your child.
It is like saying I don't like grey paint for living rooms and you have a grey living room. Different strokes.
No. Names are way more personal than paint. This thread is mean spirited.
