I think any lawyer who is actually involved in the practice of law, including hiring, would think it's absurd to claim that there's a huge difference between UVA and Georgetown based purely on US News rankings; and would also tell you it's absurd to think there's some kind of cliff between 14 and 15.

I was too for the premiere firm in the city. We hired mostly Yale, Harvard, Boalt Hall, Stanford, etc. and UVA. We did not hire from Georgetown.

For what it's worth, Georgetown Law is $10K more than UVA. Georgetown is now 94,500 a year. UVA is $84,764 a year for in-state and $87,978 for OOS.

Totally depends on your career goals. If you want to be in policy then definitely Georgetown. The difference in rankings is negligible, so I would not consider that for a second. Connections and internships are far, far more important, so Georgetown is the place to be if you want to do policy/nonprofit/political work. I've got friends who attended many different law schools, and the Georgetown grads are definitely all doing the most interesting stuff.

There is a lot of truth in this. Almost all acceptances to top schools are GPA and LSAT driven. You need tops in both to get into UVA. A double UVA student was told to his face that he would be waitlisted at UVA (probably courtesy) because his LSAT wasn't over 170. Interestingly, he didn't get into GMU either.

That last bit tells you all you need to know.
Wiki is irrelevant in this discussion. It's all about being in the T-14, which any lawyer can tell you and always based on USN&WR. UVA moves around from 6 to 8 but Georgetown is at 14, which could be a problem once it falls below T-14.
