Steve picking up fhe hammer was one of the best scenes in the whole movie.

Maybe they did have a service for Natasha but just didn't show it on screen.

That makes much more sense.
When I think about it more, I realize that Steve definitely would not have faked it in Ultron.
While Steve may be this all American, truth, justice, virtue & honor kinda guy, underneath it all, let's face it - he was still just a guy, and a competitive guy at that.

Each one of them bragged at one point or another about being the leader of the group, or their voice recognition would imply what they thought about themselves (strongest Avenger, smartest Avenger, Point Break, lol). Steve more than anybody else had a little brother-big brother, love/hate/contentious type of competitive relationship with Tony from jump.
You see it blatantly in The Avengers (I) & from every movie on it continues, leading up to that epic battle between them in Civil War.

There is no way in hell (language) that Steve would not have taken the opportunity to show Tony up, especially if he could actually lift Thor's hammer. This was a pissing contest of epic proportions and if you think that Steve faked it to prevent hurt/jealous/inferior feelings, then you haven't been watching their relationship at all since day 1.

Go watch the hammer scene from Age of Ultron on YouTube—if you watch very carefully you will see the hammer move slightly when Cap picks it up then Cap looks like he’s faking not being able to pick it up.

Actually... one of the Russo brothers implied this theory in an interview.

He said (paraphrasing) that while Cap was almost completely pure of heart & soul, (which was why he could slighty pick up the hammer in Ultron) ever since the day he met Tony Stark he had this aching guilt eating him up inside that he was armed with knowledge that Bucky killed Tony's parents, but he still hadn't told him.

Cap thought that he was saving Tony the pain, however he realized in Civil War that he wasn't sparing Tony the news for fear of hurting Tony, he wasnt telling Tony for selfish reasons of his own.

Cap had many fears tied into having the knowledge about Bucky/The Starks (which is why it's a major part of the plot in Civil War).

Cap knew Tony was a hotheaded narcissist & he was terrified of the repercussions of what Tony would do to Bucky when he found out (he'd just gotten Bucky back), he was afraid of what it would do to The Avengers (he was right, it split them in two), what would happen to his friendship with Tony, as Tony would surely feel betrayed, etc. So Cap thought it was much easier to let sleeping dogs lie

However, when he came to the realization that it was his duty as his friend to tell him & although it started a major rift, a giant weight was lifted off of him. Those were the last negative feelings Steve had stewing inside of him & now he was worthy to wield Mjolnier.

I'm with you, I also thought he was faking in Ultron.
However, when you think about the Russo's & how deep they go, nothing surface level ever & the enormous depth they went into just to evolve this particular story line & how greatly the details of this story line ultimately effected every single character in every movie from Civil War on, this theory makes MUCH greater sense than just "Steve was faking it".

I didn’t love the movie. I feel like such a stick in the mud, but I found it too long and tedious.
I used to love super hero movies, but maybe I’m just worn out.

Seen them all. Did you? Bc no one was standing out for acting but Scarlett in general isn’t a good actress. Go watch Lucy or anything she’s been in and come back. The character sucked and she didn’t help. If you are claiming she is a good actress I shudder to think what you classify as good acting. You probably think Jennifer Lawrence deserved an Oscar.
