I don’t think polish has to be a bad thing but obvious fake nails, weird shapes, tips or long nails especially with designs/crap glued to them are LMC to me.

When people have that weird ‘ring finger flair’ on that one nail- that’s the worst. It’s the nail version of getting a head full of beach braids while on vacay and trying to rock it IRL when you return to the grind as if no one is cringing while playing along that it looks great.

Almost everyone I know wears nail polish. I am solidly UMC with UMC biglaw job.

+1 in a fairly high prestige occupation and when I look around the boardroom, almost every woman has perfectly manicured and polished hands. And 100% are wearing makeup.

Me too! Without polish, my fingers get all flighty and fidgety and I can't manage them at all.

No. I am guessing your set is really white real frumpy mommy martyr think pantyhose type folks who post here asking if they can wear sneakers after 40.

Huh. I love to wear nail polish because looking at the pretty colors makes me happy. I'm someone who really enjoys seeing certain colors, and if they're on the end of my fingers, i.e., always visible, it's like easy happiness. I don't care if others notice my polished nails or not.

I just scheduled a nail appointment (acrylics with gel), then plan to fly first class to the west coast for a mini vacation. I’ll make sure everyone can see my nails while I sip wine with my pinky up.

The aristo lady who rides at my local stable often has painted nails as well, but they are usually chipped and half grown out.


Worrying about whether nail polish signals social class is...low class.

I am UMC heading toward just plain upper. I wear nail polish when I feel like it. Sometimes I wear blue.

Visible unpolished toes don't look good.

Make sure everything is neat and trimmed. That's pretty much it.
