06 McLean lost one of their better players to Spirit at the mid year break. McLean 06 is a complete disaster.

Almost all of the mclean teams struggle at some point at younger ages. At least they have a record of improvement year over year.

I'm at Spirit, and I say records matter. All those commits came from the U19s of last year's fall, who had a great record, the U17s of last year that made the play offs and the U19s this year, who had a great d this fall.

Records matter. Spirit has to correct this trend. Correct the rosters, play players where they should be played, and start winning some games.

There's room for disagreement. You aren't the only one at Spirit on this forum.

Untrue-there are currently 2 07's (one PT) and one 08 (who is very good).

It is very true that the current 06 team definitely needs an influx of talent and at this point it is unclear if that will materialize. It has not so far at ID sessions.

Ok, that doesn't sound like they "had to fill the team with a bunch of 2007 players" is particularly accurate. To me a bunch is more like 4-6?

I want to see the 06 team succeed, but what set of circumstances have those been? One game against Penn Fusion? They regular lose by 7, 8, 9, sometimes double digit goals. I think it's a pilot program with a team that Spirit started very late recruiting, so I'm not pinging fingers. At the same time, I don't think we should pretend like the current group of players - by some reason or another - isn't struggling. It is. They did lose a goalie, but they had large goal differentials before that.

So that team needs a dramatic reorganization, talent pool adjustment, age ready players or something. It's a shame Tom didn't pick up that team. It certainly needs his attention.

That team needs 3-4 talented 2006s which would make it more even with the competition in the division. It’s hard to compete when the clown car subs for the other team are almost as good as the starters yet your team has hardly a bench. Even putting the one playup out of the group back with the 2006s would help substantially. The team played fairly well at CASL as well, even with the current roster as it is. So let’s not pretend that there aren’t any solid players on the team. They need a few more.

This post is fair and accurate. I could see and influx of 3-4 talented players really helping. That's about 30% of the regular number of players who play today, as noted by another poster. It would be interesting to see how the team would change with that simple addition.
