I have an SUV and an SUV saves more fuel than an electric car. GM and Ford for instance sells electric/hybrid cars at almost break even or a slight low do to high costs and R&D involved. SUVs have huge profits of 7-15K per vehicle. That profit is used to create new electric technologies.
You should thank these people as they are doing more for environment than folks driving electriccars.
