100.4-101.5 is not that different from 100-101. We're just arguing semantics. My point was that "anything over 98.6 is considered a fever!" is erroneous, and results in people dragging their healthy kids into the doctor because "they had a fever of 99.0 this morning!" which is not, by anyone's definition, a fever. That's all I meant.

Malaria is highly treatable if you get meds - you’ll be fine. But didn’t you also say your 3 year old is sick?

I hope your husband got the health insurance worked out. That is going to be one heck of a medical bill op...going to the ER verse a doctor office and that is just for starters.

Give it a break. Op has a lot to think about. Retro coverage does exist. OP lives in a new city and doesn't have a PCP. It's also the weekend. I think the ER was smart.

It's at 102 now. Right now they say my liver is concerning ( shows high levels) and I have a UTI. Tomorrow morning an infectious disease doctor will be seeing me. They hope to have the malaria and other infectious disease results by tomorrow.

Good luck. I hope it's nothing serious. My young niece in India had a bout of dengue fever and we were all worried sick till she got better.
