Not a fan, but I suspect the thing I don't like about it (not a longstanding typical name in the U.S., so it pegs your kid as being from a specific demographic) is what appeals to you about it

I love it. I really wanted to name my son that but DH couldn't get on board. He only likes plain top 5 names though. He's a sheeple. It looked great with our last name.

Right? My coworker named their kids really strange names- the second was Xiomara. Everyone just kept asking “how’s the baby?” because no one knew how to pronounce it (or how to spell it). Rhys is nothing in comparison.


It was #848 in the US last year, between Paula and Aiyana. 319 baby Xiomaras. It's a pretty common Spanish-language name, so plenty of people know how to pronounce it, and spell it too.
