I don't get the hype. I like the book and the method but she show is like Hoarders with a Japanese host. People are sobbing over this? Why?

I wish it went into how to curtail kid toys.

She was the worst. She talked like such an airhead. I don't know how Marie could stand it.

KonMarie method isn’t about having everything perfect. It’s an ONGOING process. Hoarding is a psychological disorder, and simply removing everything al at once can be harmful for the owners mental state. She advocates learning the method and slowly improving your life to bring joy. If the owner is traumatized from a big purge than it’s all for not.

I agree, although I think that's the difference between just plain decluttering and things like the show Clean Sweep where they redid a room where they were bringing in a crew to redesign/redecorate. That was more inspiring but probably less realistic. Plus Marie is making them do the whole house - on Clean Sweep I always wondered if a lot of the crap just migrated to other rooms.

It is interesting to see the relative squalor these people live in, even after they get rid of so much. I could stand to get rid of stuff, but I'm way ahead of their "afters"

She looks so familiar to me! found her Insta, but it doesn't explain why she looks familiar to me. anyone else?

I agree I know I've seen her from somewhere. I watch a lot of crappy reality TV so I feel like it's from there....

She was on Bravo before, see this post: https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/30/775878.page#14286564

I don't think she has a normal job. Her FB page states that she's some sort of motivational counselor. It doesn't seem like a thriving business, considering that half of LA is trying to be a spiritual/self-help guru of some sort. And she lives in Lakewood, which isn't exactly a hip place (I grew up there, their house is on the street of my best friend from HS).

I read they live in Seal Beach.

It looked like they were living inside a Kirkland's.

so they shop at Costco. and?

she's actually been on reality TV before - I doubt she's into MLM's. She's a coach of some kind.

She said that she works part time but glossed over the details so who knows.

They’re on the road to divorce.
