I sit down because I like the sensation of peeing underwater.

Standing to make number-two is gaining a lot of popularity in the Western States. Don't knock it until you've tried it. Much healthier.

Sitting is not totally mess and problem free either. Sometimes, especially with morning wood, you hit the bowl and it blasts all over the underside of the bowl or between bowl and seat.

DH would sit to pee but he complains that he gets wet from the toilet bowl. We had to get him one of those special toilets like Mathew Whitaker is famous for. It’s a real hardship.

I have to think most men pee while seated at home. I certainly do. I can't imagine waking up all tired and having to stand, especially if I have half wood and it would spray all over.

As men get older, sometimes one function leads to another. Also, once you have an experience where what you thought was gas was in fact something other than gas, you tend to get cautious.

My DH pees sitting down in the house as well. Just too disgusting otherwise. He taught our boys to do the same. No need for us to clean up pee drops/spray everywhere, yay. They all stand up in public toilets.
