Do grown women still share beds when going away together?

We are middle aged moms ages 35-45.

I do because I usually take a lover or two on these trips (once at the same time!) and I enjoy being loud when I am being railed.

Ew no. I always get my own suite.

I'll share a room if it helps a friend stay in budget, but I prefer my own, mostly because I want my own bathroom.

I'll share a room, but not a bed. And no couches or makeshift floor beds like when we were kids please, I'm almost 50.

I'm 47 and going on a girls trip. We share rooms and beds, but friends since HS. How well do you know them?

I've seen this go all sorts of ways. Usually I'm totally fine sharing a room (or even a bed if it's a queen or bigger) but I won't sleep on a pullout couch or trundle or anything. When I was pregnant, I insisted on my own room because I snored SO BADLY and constantly tossed and turned and peed all the time and I didn't want to be stressed about disturbing people.

I've also definitely known people who are all about their own room all the way, which is totally fine.

It's just important to be clear and upfront about your preferences ("I'd prefer my own room but can be flexible") and your boundaries ("I will not share a bed", "I can only afford a max of $X a night total") because it impacts people's budget/planning. You don't want to make this announcement AFTER you've all agreed on a hotel.

My best cousin friend, we share.
My best local friend, we share.
Neighborhood Mom group - we share when we're staying in each others' homes.
After traveling with my Mom, never sharing a room with her again.

The ski place in Colorado has 2 bedrooms so 4 of us share rooms.

The beach house in Narragansett has 5 bedrooms and there are 7 of us do some of us share.

The house in Tampa has 3 bedrooms and it depends how many go but usually only 3-4 go..

Deep creek has 4 bedrooms and 5 of us go, I share.

I meet a friend at a spa once a year… Bedford, Nemacolin, etc and we share because the whole point of the weekend is to catch up.

The owner rarely shares.

I went to Spain with 4 of us and we each shared…. 2 rooms, it was through some agency.

When I go to Boston for work sometime a friend tags along and we share my room.

I guess if you travel once in a blue moon and you want it to be “special” you’d obsess over your own room.

NP. Not an obsession. In the situations mentioned above, I wouldn’t go out of my way to stay at a hotel if I’m invited to share a room with a close friend in a privately owned home. If it’s a resort with dozens or hundreds of rooms, yes I’m going to pay for my own room. No need to be insulting about someone’s personal preferences.

My friend did. I hated it. My bedmate snored and did not tell me in advance. I ended up on a sofa.

I'd get my own hotel room.

I will share but strongly prefer not to. I am an introvert.
