I like being able to go to Costco on a Saturday without dealing with mobs of people and crazy parking (looking at you, DC and Arlington) and being able to commute to DC in under a 1/2 hour. I'm quite happy to keep our property values low. I have no plans to move and all the rising prices do is raise my (already too high) property taxes.

Maryland has 24 counties. Virginia has 134. Hardly a fair comparison. Also NOAA HQ is in Montgomery not PG County just like National Archives HQ is in DC not PG County. But carry on.
Oh, that's rich. Everytime there is a comparison made here it's always between MoCo (one county) vs NoVa (many counties).

Because it is nice and affordable.
It's probably the worst county in md and it has..
A Big Ten university
NASA
NOAA
Andrews AFB
Census
FDA
National Archives
IRS
Army research lab
An NFL franchise
The nations richest African American population
Compare that to Va's worst county. Greensville county. What a shitshow.
That's why md is the richest state. Even its worst county is superior than 50 percent of Va's counties.

Many HQ are in the city but many of the research facilities are in PG. FDA, USDA, TTB, ATF, NASA, NARA, Smithsonian, NOAA..... There are lots of things going on in PG beyond strip malls and poverty.
This is why Jeff made a separate school forum for PG county... so many ignorant people on this site.

We have already had an influx of Capitol Hill douche bags into my neighborhood, we don't need any from Amazon.
Government agencies attract lesser talent when they are located in PG. Not a decision to make lightly, even with the reduced rent.
No they don't.
Sure they do. Many people decide they don’t want to live or work in PG. It’s a hard sell to both employers and employees.
