Hockenlooper should drop out of Presidential race and focus on Colorado Senate.

Mitch Landrieu definite should run in Louisiana if Gov Edwards does not. If Edwards runs, then Landrieu should run for Gov.

The "emergency" vote will be telling as well. Do the GOP Senators respect the US Constitution or Trump?

Presently, the concern for Senate Republicans should be: What, other than the shutdown, the attempt to end the Affordable Care Act and passage of the unpopular tax cut can they claim to have accomplished? Judges, I suppose. But that alone is unlikely to save them if Democrats have the wind at their backs.

PP here re: Kobach in Kansas.

If I’m 100% honest, I do believe Laura Kelly won the governorship in Kansas because Kobach is so onerous. Had Governor Jeff Colyer won the Republican Primary, I think he would have won the 2018 general election.

I campaigned hard for Laura Kelly, so it pains me to say this. Colyer - who moved up from Lt. Gov. when Trump gave Brownback a silly political appointment - was a whole lot like Brownback, but did an adequate job of concealing it. Colyer is such a detestable person, but he can be congenial. Kobach wears his disgusting personality like a badge of honor, so people who supported him are the same ones who support Trump..

Kelly might have been helped by Sharice Davids, and vice versa. What may be lost at the 10,000-ft. level is that the Kansas House of Representatives became more extreme in the 2018 election, even though Kelly was voted governor. Koch & Co spent vast amounts through special interest groups to get 10 new, highly extreme legislators voted in across the state.

We spend our days fighting Koch here. No sooner do we win ground in one area than we lose it in another. If you ever want to see an election bought, just moved to Kansas and watch.

Georgia still has a lot of work to do on voting fairness so that this next election doesn't get stolen as well. I have a friend in Georgia who is a person of color and met all the residency requirements and was given a provisional ballot for reasons no one could explain to her. She had to jump through hours of procedural hoops to ensure her vote got counted. Most people don't have the means to do this.

I read somewhere that McConnell was trying to get Pompeo to quit State and run for that seat to crowd out Kobach.
