I agree.

I asked a physician relative about Kate and pregnancy. Relative insisted that someone at Kate's weight would not be alive in her 50s, as by 38 she would be diabetic and hypertensive. The hormones and the IVF would just exacerbate her health problems.

My guess is that Rebecca is dying and there's bad blood between Toby and her because she blames Toby for Kate's death.

I don't understand how it's possible not to realize this, and to think that "that football player" is going to be a character in The Pearsons lives. ?

Even if you didn't know about Franco Harris, the Immaculate Reception should ring a bell. It should be common knowledge if you're a person who grew up in the United States.

I think this is very true. I'm clueless about football and think I miss a lot.

This show is so much richer for those who understand and appreciate the football/Pittsburgh nuances. Those who don’t get it don’t know what they’re missing — yet get quite agitated by people who do know.
Similar to Friday Night Lights. A great show if you don’t follow football and its traditions, but if you appreciate all the football parallels, the show is just that much more.

They weren’t really young when she had the kids. She was 30. Yes it’s young but not “really” young like 20.


30 was not at all "young" to be having kids in 1980.

Agree. I think Rebecca and Jack were married in the spring/summer of 1976 - wasn't she wearing daisies in her hair? That's 3 1/2 years after their first day, which makes sense. Four years married before they became parents also makes sense.
