Sigh. Yes, it is. For now. But if you'd read the earlier posts, you'd see that I pointed out that Wood Acres and Pyle are overcrowded, and Westbrook and Westland have capacity. Moreover, the new residences will be closer to Westland than all but a couple of the houses in Westland's current catchment area. Look at a map, and see how easy it would be to extend the Westbrook (and hence Westland) catchment areas to include Westbard.
Also, don't you feel a little silly posting "but those residences will be in the Whitman cluster" in a thread entitled, and dedicated to the discussion of, altering school boundaries? The entire point of this discussion is the potential *change* of current boundaries. Sheesh.
NP. It certainly wouldn't be unreasonable geographically to have Westbard go to Westland. Even the rest of Wood Acres could go to Westland and it wouldn't be illogical. But it makes no sense for people zoned for Wood Acres to go to BCC over Whitman since Whitman is much is closer. The northern parts zoned for Wood Acres can easily walk to Whitman.

Nope, pp is correct there is a small area at top of the DC diamond that is zoned for Woodlin/Sligo/Blair. The maps you posted do not abut each other. Your better off using the mcps map that shows HS areas.

Yes. Frankly, I expect the plan for BCC is to move some students out (although which students is problematic) and then redistrict the proposed Westbard development, when it eventually is built, for Westbrook and Westland, eventually feeding to BCC, rather than Wood Acres, Pyle and Whitman.
The plan for BCC is to build the addition.

BCC will continue to need 2 feeder middle schools. So you could surely put some more kids in Westbrook and Westland, but you can't put 2200 kids at Westland, which is why they built Silver Creek. Which is why Silver Creek will continue to feed to BCC. (In theory you could swap the entire Silver Creek catchment for TPMS or SSIMS, but then you've got all the elementaries to sort out in a catchment that already has split articulation.) Which is why they won't be able to put 500-1000 kids from Montgomery Blair in BCC. Which is why Woodward will be filled by the overcapacity populations from Walter Johnson PLUS some redistricting from multiple DCC schools. How MCPS factors that into the overall DCC scheme, I won't predict. But the rest of this scenario is fairly obvious.

Agreed. I'm not the one who suggested that Silver Creek be split from BCC - that was some other (deluded) poster. I'm simply pointing out to that poster that moving kids into BCC is not as east as s/he appears to believe it is, because there are considerations on the west side of the catchment area as well as the east side.
Of course, given the loons pushing "Save Westbard," I have no doubt that my middle schooler will have graduated from BCC (and likely college) before any of those considerations really come into play.

Yes, Blair and B-CC zones are adjacent and border DC to the south. You can just think of Silver Spring as East Chevy Chase if that makes it easier for you to palette.

This is simply not an option after the recent battle for which students attend the school.... Otherwise, I would agree with you. If the parents of Silver creek magically get together and offer the moved themselves then maybe...
