U.K. taxpayers paid 400,000 pounds for Eugenie’s 18th birthday party too.
this picture is hilarious. i would totally watch that movie.
Totally looks caricature. Are they for serious?

Charles has said he intends to scale back the monarchy in terms of who remains on the payroll. The Queen wouldn't do it, but he will.
Andrew and Fergie are doing whatever they can to demonstrate that their daughters have a following and their continued participation will add value. That's a stretch IMHO, but this wedding is a strategic attempt to demonstrate that Brits and the rest of the world value Eugenie and her sister.
They need the carriage ride to generate an audience. I'm sure she will have a designer gown plus an outfit change for the party. I'm sure pictures will be leaked. I'm sure honeymoon pics will be leaked. It's all to generate media attention to see just how popular she is.
If she's smart, she will ramp up her royal engagements and charity work. And she'll get pregnant sooner rather than later.
Once the queen is gone and Charles takes over, he absolutely can take his siblings and their kids off the payroll. He's basically said he would do that.
Andrew worked hard to get his daughters residences in Kensington palace. No clue if Charles can kick them out or not.
But only Eugenie is...now...living at Kensington Palace and in a 3-bedroom cottage which is most likely her permanent lot considering Andrew had to work hard just to get her that. One kid will be a stretch for it and her 'Princess' lifestyle. Add even just one more and she will be forced out with her new husband.
So I can't see this really working out long-term for their schemes. As for the wedding I think the Yorks have heavily overestimated Eugenie's potential popularity. I don't think they'll be laughed out of the church but pretty sure crowds are going to be thin.

Oh, it’s real. Taste and discretion have never been a York strong suit.

Charles, separately from his wife I might add, attends and conducts more 500 working events a year in addition to raising more than ten million a year for U.K. charities.
He's a tool as far romance goes but no one disputes his contributions to society or royal public perception. https://www.royal.uk/the-prince-of-wales
