Mostly I've learned really useful info about summer camps and local MCPS stuff.
Also I found coconut oil a complete life changer (I'm not allergic to it and its great for feet, limbs and other places...) and I didn't even see the original thread, just a brief reference to it.

And I enjoyed the long threads about the TV show, The Americans in the entertainment forum, a lot.

I learned about CIO sleep training which saved my marriage. It was nice being able to ignore the angry anonymous moms and listen to the advice of those who have BTDT.

I posted the original link two years ago about the Macy’s coats. I was so happy seeing everyone reply about how many were purchased to help children and how many people loved them for their own kids. I hope they have the sale again this year. I purchased some at the slightly higher price both for donation and also for my own children again last year. Thanks for putting his on the list. You made my night.

+1 on the Macy's sale. I bought 10+ for the clothing closet at our EOTP charter. If it happens again, please flag it!

I will! It’s usually in November or December.

Major takeaway from DCUM is perspective. Many minor tips, but mostly it's the perspective from smart, kind, and insightful posters that has been so helpful.

I bought one, and it broke. Bought another, and it broke. I have thin fine hair. Those suckers are expensive, and I am beyond pissed.

A somewhat light hearted list with a little serious thrown in

How to make skillet gnocchi

BUdget bytes website

To feed my kid veggies while I cook dinner, including frozen peas

An insight into poverty (stories shared about no money for periods pads have stuck with me)

A sense of perspective about how my life is basically good

Proper gift for a bar/ bat mitzvah (we moved here from the Middle East and had never been invited before). We felt much better after reading on here about the wonderful ceremony and what an important milestone that is. So thanks, DCUM.

And that I should really appreciate my normal, good-at-communicating, nice, sexy, hardworking, helps-around-the-house DH. There sure are a lot of dysfunctional duds on this site and I had no idea there were so many.

I've also upped my sex game after reading about all the unhappy husbands on this site. I really want my DH to never be one of those.

I learned about Catastrophe and Crazy Ex-GF shows. Both are now my favorites.

Someone responded to one of my posts suggesting that I had synesthesia. Up until then, I'd never heard of the term. I was about 30 at the time. I thought whatever was wrong with me was unique to me until I found that there are thousands of people with similar situations.

That way more married couples have affairs than I ever thought. I had no idea.

So I upped my sex game with dh. We are both happier. Thanks, dcum!

There are some really angry people out there. Like really angry. I thought that I was angry, but then I found DCUM.
