And that is the reason I descided to not go to nursing school. I had gotten accepted and it was almost a done deal. The thought of picking a profession at that age with a man already in mind was terrifying. So I ended in IT and that worked out good for me

My big long list of stuff nurses do is stuff that EVERYbody does.

I was attempting to point out (maybe it was too dry for you) that saying "There are some really crazy nurses with messed up family lives, divorce after divorce." is ridiculous, just like the list of stuff I subsequently wrote. Like ... trying to suggest you might not date nurses because some nurses drink a glass of wine with dinner. You can't generalize about a set of people based on one attribute -- probably based on a very small number of people you know.

I asked this question because I 33, a nurse, and I went on a date with a guy who looked down on me for it. He made rude statements about why anyone would not just become a doctor, and nurses are overpaid for their jobs. I told him I was currently in school for NP, and the derogatory remarks still kept coming until I left. He said things subtly, but I got the hint. Posters in the patent forum a year or two back also commented how their law and finanace careers were way more prestigious and harder than a nurse. It’s nice to see nany posters on this board don’t think that same way!


He's a dumbass. Be glad that he revealed his true colors and walk on.

Nurses who go commando sounds pretty good. Kind of makes up for the illegal movie downloading.

I think the only problem are the hours. My best friend is a nurse and makes great money but she works 12 hour shifts and isn't off on the weekends so we talk on the phone while she's driving into work at 6 am and I'm getting ready for work. By the time she gets home she's tired.

I've had a really rough year and I actually took off work on a Wednesday just so I could see her, sit on her couch and cry. He husband travels for work and they have no kids so her relationship works but I can imagine that would be hard on someone trying to date.
