You aren't wrong. There are great, attractive people that come in all shapes and sizes. However, one thing that is pretty universally unattractive is insecurity and the previous poster screams insecurity which makes it much less likely he would fall into the category of your hottie hubby.

Funny how two people can read the same words and reach opposite conclusions. I took him as confident and honest. Maybe that's because I don't find the idea of a shorter guy being handsome as preposterous. Maybe the baggage in this discussion is yours

A friend of mine is six feet tall and her husband is shorter than her by several inches. They've been happily married for years. I'd say it's a shallow reason to break up with someone, but if you're really not attracted to him, then that's what you have to work with.

If he's really a great guy, he will likely be able to find someone who appreciates him and doesn't mind his height at all.

I wouldn’t date anyone shorter than I. I am 4’10” so It’s never been an issue, lol. DH is 5’10”.

I am not a “must be tall” woman because at 5 feet most men ate taller than me so it is nothing I have ever had to think about but there is no way if I were your height I would date someone seven inches shorter than me. There are short women out there for him.

I am taller than my husband by a couple inches. It took some getting used to when we were dating and I asked all the same questions you are asking but after not too long realized he was the right guy for me no matter how tall. But I am about 5’10” to begin with. And it’s just a couple inches. I would also have hesitations in your situation as I don’t think I would feel comfortable. Just take your time and see where things go and how you feel and if you’re not feeling it then move along.

OP, you sound like a good egg. You have to cut him loose though. You aren’t sexually attracted to him, and if you settle down the sex will dry up and he will spend his life trying everything to rekindle something he thought you felt but you really didn’t. It is sad, of course, but for the best.

I think it’s understandable to not really want to date a guy who is more than a couple of inches shorter than you. I know it drives short guys crazy when short women only want to date tall men, though.
