Never. Not once in 7 years of marriage or 11 years together has my husband ever raised his voice at me or made a personal attack. We do disagree sometimes, but we talk about the issue we disagree on.

I am saying this in the nicest, most sincere way, speak to a therapist. He doesn’t own you you are equal, for your own good act like it.

Didn’t realize until I met my current dh that a relationship can be purely respectful and loving. I would be astonished if dh were to say even a slightly insulting word or even use a condescending tone with me. With xh that was our normal. He threw insults and yelled so often that I assumed everyone dealt with that kind of behavior at home. Not so. Leaving him was the best decision of my life.

I would be astonished if dh were to say even a slightly insulting word or even use a condescending tone with me. With xh that was our normal. He threw insults and yelled so often that I assumed everyone dealt with that kind of behavior at home. Not so. Leaving him was the best decision of my life.

In all of our years together (16) DH has never yelled, called me names, or cursed at me. I can't imagine him ever doing that, it's just not who he is.

Not always true. Not even married. I don't want to get married, he does. We don't call each other names, but even when I contemplated leaving, I calculated and I couldn't afford to leave. The kid starts school soon, so migth be able to leave now if thing go bad again.
