I think we’re having a misunderstanding. My local high school is 8% white. I’m not just talking about not being in the majority.
So you're in a minority in your high school, so what, the whole rest of everything is white in the US. Turn on the tv, look at magazines, read history, go to movies, look at the politicians, probably the teachers also. There is no shortage of white folks for your kids to see/hear/be around/learn about/find as role models. Will you stop acting like it's the same thing as being a minority in this country? For the love.

I am serious. This Indian thread and the other Asian thread are beyond racist.

We are white and at a diverse school, but the whole cheerleading squad is black. Where can I find a school with cheerleaders that look like my child? Is this also a legitimate ask?
I’m going to have to agree on this. There are no schools near me where whites are a majority. My white kids have been minorities since they set foot in school. Is it legitimate for me to ask where my kid will have the most white classmates? What’s the cutoff at which this is legitimate: 10%? 20%? Or can we just agree it’s not legitimate? If whites have to be ashamed to want to be around other whites then it seems everyone else should be too.
You don't have to ask anyone. MCPS provides data for whites for each school.

As far as many posts goes here, posters are talking about having 1-2 kids in class who look similar. Now it may be hard for you to understand because you never had to think about situation where 1-2 kids will look similar to your kids in class. Do you have a situation where in your kids class there are no white or your issue is that you are not in majority?
Scenario 1: I want to have 15 out of 25 kids looking similar to my kids.
Scenario 2: I want to have 10 out of 25 kids looking similar to my kids.
Scenario3: I want to have 2-3 kids out of 25 looking similar to my kids.
There is a large difference here.
Take it your case. You are talking about scenario where your kids are not in majority. Is anyone talking about such situations here? OP even mentioned that they are not looking at Aushburn level thinking that it may not be good for their kids to be in majority South Asian school. Here you are complaining about not being in majority white school. Do you see any difference.

Only Hindi speaking Indians of the Hindu religion are acceptable. Ugh
This kind of attitude will get your children nowhere. How racist and close minded of you all to force this type of exclusion on your children. I know plenty of people who do this type of thing. It’s not any better than Donald Trunp’s rethoric in my opinion!
