This is true for any bag if you are very familiar with the brand and style. However, the absence of logos and branding makes it quiet.

Regardless of income (because of course nobody in the entire metro area makes more than a GS 15) lifestyle, social circle and personal preference only leggings, Boden dresses and handbags from Target and maybe a Kate Spade you got for your birthday at the outlet are allowed. Any amounts spent in excess of those things are considered a waste or should be given to charity, spent on your child, your pet or saved for your next house.

A few years ago I developed a crush on a Chloe bag, so I started putting $10, $15 away to buy it when I turned 40. I ended up saving more than enough for it, and went to Tulum instead. But I still love this bag, and appreciate well-made things.

I have seen articles in Forbes that says that certain designer bags hold their value better than other investments. The price doesn't depreciate like some other investments.

To each their own. I might buy that fancy bag once I wouldn't have to stuff it with toddler snacks.

DP. This might sound crazy, but there are actually men who care about fashion AND are still "manly" in every other sense. I know lots of men like this. One is my DH - his parents are very fashionable so he has always dressed very well. In fact, most of the people in his extended family are like this as well. He knows all about designer accessories and clothing and owns quite a few pieces. Yet he can throw on a tool belt and fix our dishwasher or reroute a pipe in our house, replace the brakes on his car, coach our son's soccer team, and "provide" for our family in every sense. He always dresses appropriately for the occasion but is not high-maintenance. He owns high-end clothing and sweatpants from Target.

The world is not always so black and white. Maybe you should get out more.
