Sorry to derail, but PP, you might consider taking a deep breath here and rephrasing things like this in your own mind to translate into what your real emotion is. It seems like it would take a lot of energy to HATE PEOPLE for something so silly as a thought that differs from your own. Maybe what you meant to say is that you "hate it when[b] people think like this" because it puts the impetus on women to "prevent" cheating. But do you *really* HATE people who think like this...or do you just hate their mindset on this issue?
I can say that I hate this mentality and probably think that the people who think like this are sexist and clueless as to what makes a marriage solid in the first place.
Find a f*ck is easy. Finding a life companion is something far more complex. Arm candy does not automatically = good spouse.

How did it come about that she asked your DH to give him a ride to work? I just don't get how all of a sudden a neighbor would offer something like that. In any normal situation, I would assume that he had a flat tire, battery issue. Or do you share one car and sometimes you are stuck at home when he takes the car? I don't get how that came about at all. That is a huge red flag.

Honestly it sounds like you might have undiagnosed postpartum depression, OP. You may just be reacting to friendly overtures as though they are threats because the postpartum depression has messed with your own judgment.
You didn't exactly give an example of the neighbor flirting or being suggested with your husband. And you're the one who selected the example, not us. It tells me that your judgment on this isn't working.

+1. She's probably just lonely and maybe her social skills are a bit rusty. I ask my female neighbors about their DHs, or even make small talk with their DHs, and trust me, I have zero interest in stealing them away.
This. I am divorced. There isn't one single dad in the neighborhood I would have any interest in. There is one nice, cute, seemingly non-sexist one, and I sometimes say hi to him and we have nice conversations. But if he ever in a million years made a move on me, it would be such a turn off. I may be divorced, but do you think I think so little of myself that I'd be happy with a guy who would cheat on his wife? Blech.
