Isn't that how it works though? Voters want to hear about all the great things that are going to happen. Most voters don't give much thought to where the money will come from. Not true. They do keep building even if the units aren't selling.

Or, they leave the projects half unfinished, which we had happen at a development near us a while back. They just moved really slowly and left it as a huge construction site for far too long.

Also, do a search anytime for empty apartments in the county. There is an insane amount of inventory in some areas.

Yes, Fani is the one who spoke out against well-earning wage earners in Bethesda choosing to live in old, inexpensive apartments or what is called “Naturally Occurring Affordable Housing.” She stated that they shouldn’t live there, they can afford other apartments. Those apartments need to go to her friends at Casa, I guess. She clearly has NEVER heard of the old saw of living beneath your means to save money. She also wants to make sure there is central air in each affordable unit, not window units - you know, the kind you still see in many older homes.

Leventhal is the best bet. He isn't perfect, but he's the best package at the moment.

Levethal acts like he’ll be happiest when everyone’s home value falls, so that the County is more affordable. If you live in Bethesda, Potomac, Rockville and north or west, he is NOT your guy.

I’ve written council members twice when there have been votes on issues I was particularly concerned about and Berliner didn’t write back...you would think that with so few people paying attention to county politics that some staffer could be borrowed to return an email.

Same - he and his office could care less! I had a serious issue and they repeatedly blew me off and said ‘not my problem’ and yet it was definitely something they could have dealt with easily. Just couldn’t care less.

I ended up contacting Van Hollen and though their office wasn’t really as relevant to my issue they were great and they helped me tremendously.

I will never forget the contempt I received from Berliner’s Office. Never.
Now that it’s election time he’ll want to be your best buddy but don’t fall for that.

He’s lawyer - they bash people, it’s what they do. He’s also very bright.
He understands many issues such as not attacking small businesses and building walkable communities with good transportation.
