Now or originally?
Either way I think you get in, but maybe not until the second or third week of school.
Now. Is the waitlist still active after the school start?

Do you know if they have siblings there?

On the contrary, I have two happy students there, one in hs and one in ms (and another joining soon) and I am just recalling all of the many many conversations I have had over the years with parents of 4th graders once they realize am a BASIS parent. It’s tiresome to watch parent reinvent the wheel over and over..
Somehow the school seems very scary to people, but I think that many parents underestimate what their children are capable of learning and underestimate how engaged and happy most BASIS students are. Boredom is not fun and my DCs have had some amazing teachers at BASIS. And the smaller class sizes are under appreciated by many parents considering BASIS.
