The county is having community meetings this month to introduce a plan to explore turning the Fairfax County Parkway into a toll road and/or HOV lanes.
Please post date/time/location of the meeting so we can let our elected officials know how stupid this idea is.

Anonymous wrote:Regarding making the Fairfax County Parkway a toll road: REMINDER you voted for it. Dec 16, 20216 , 2 weeks before Gov McAulliffe left office, he signed the Transportation Bill...embedded was the law that only several NOVA Counties(Fairfax, Prince William, Alexandria area, Arlington area) would pay $1.15 per thousand of house sale when they sold their homes. So now you will pay this to upsize, downsize or leave the area. FACT:The people across from us just left today and it cost them $1800.00 in congestion fee-tax to leave Fairfax county. NOT ALL of Virginia is subject to this cost. You voted for it and supported the Governor with his office. Tolls on the Fairfax County/Springfield-Franconia Parkway is just part of that "transportation help" you want and that legislation. I suspect nightime and COB Friday legislation has come back to reach out to you. The only solution: Leave. We are.

We bought in Glover Park. My house is small and old, but my city services are solid and I love my 15 minute bus commute to the office! Time to pay us, road users. You want that big new construction house in FCO? You gotta pay the piper or go degrade yourself at the slug line.

If it’s local traffic why not charge the people using it? That’s the way tolls work. The people who use it pay for it.
Because we've already paid for it via taxes. It makes no sense for us to have to pay a toll in order to drive the road that we already paid for.
