Our child is challenged in her classes, asked to step outside of her comfort zone, and her confidence has soared at ACDS. We transferred from another private school in the area where our experience wasn't even a close 2nd to what both our child and we as parents are getting at ACDS. You should visit ACDS, talk to faculty, staff, parents and other students. BTW, the building and grounds are fantastic, too.
+100. ACDS is a hidden gem.
Lol, if it is such a hidden gem, how come so many board members have transferred their kids to St Stephens?
+1000. See where ACDS kids are going these days. Some haven't even got into any private schools. They are starting to see an affect from the current HoS.
I've noticed there seems to be a couple of ACDS bashers here on DCUM. I can't help but wonder if its 1 or 2 people continuously posting with a serious axe to grind......

ACDS is a nice little school, but to suggest it is a feeder for elite schools is beyond ridiculous.
This thread is so off topic. The OP never ONCE mentioned she was looking to ensure her child got into an "elite" DC private. NEWFLASH: not everyone worships at the feet of the so called elite schools. Please re-read the original post. The OP had a specific question presumably focused on the best school for her childs current needs. She wasn't asking for the yellow brick roadmap into HYP. Sometime I think these "elite" school parents live in such a smug little bubble and echo chamber they take any opportunity to bash others so they can reinforce their belief that they are so much better than everyone else. Jeez. Sometimes DCUM is just so very ridiculous

I’m not sure I’d be bragging about kids getting into Field. Have money - gain entry regardless.

Similar justification for including different races, too?
