Some women feel great. If so, I would go. You are not going to a third world country.

I flew across country, short connection, and then another flight a little earlier in pregnancy - so probably close to 7 hours flying - for my SIl’s wedding.

I obtained a copy of my obstetric record and made sure I knew what hospital was closest and that my insurance was accepted. I also got trip insurance for unforeseen complications, which I usually don’t get. I think I was 30 weeks on the return flight.

I did some short hikes, felt great, flights were easy etc.

I had “strong Braxton Hicks” starting at about 34 weeks and discovered at 35 weeks that they were actually the real deal. Delivered at 36.5 weeks.

Yeah, it is pretty bad. I'm small, too, and I know there is no way on earth that I would be willing to deal with that, especially with the frequency I would need when I was 33 and 34 weeks pregnant.

I hear what you're saying that the doctor gave you the all-clear but I would choose to not go. The risk just wouldn't be worth it to me. And if something happened I wouldn't want to be in another country trying to deal with it.

If you do decide to go, be sure to get trip insurance AND call your medical insurance company to get their recommendations for what to do in case of an emergency.

Note that regular per-trip travel insurance probably won't cover medical care related to a pregnancy that's already in progress. Maybe it would compensate for the cost of having to cancel the trip.

Ugh, that is awful!

I'm sure many women would do it, but I stopped at about 27 weeks with both my kids. Did a flight to Toronto and simply walking through the airport was hell. I had a 2 year old at the time, too, but my legs had already swollen, and I had to pee every minute. I would also be nervous if baby came early.
