How can you not get into K? what's your IB?
Sorry, I meant my K didn't get into any of our 12 picks using the lottery (mostly bilingual schools since I'm Latina). We do have Eaton as in boundary so that's where she's going to go...
Cry me a freakin' river.
Do you also say this to those who are already at a desirable school EOTP but lottery because they want immersion, like the PP? Or do you reserve your resentment for people WOTP?

Your IB is EATON and you're COMPLAINING about your Ker not getting anywhere?!!?! Are you f*cking kidding? Most people lotterying would kill to have their IB ES be Eaton...

You don’t see this now because your child is young, but trust us old timers when we tell you to can it. You are in a position of great privilege.
Yeah, those parents sticking it out in Shaw with their million dollar rowhomes and sending their kids to private are really underprivileged...
You do realiz that most of us EOTP are not in this position, right? The median HOUSEHOLD income in DC is 75K a year.
So move to a condo? Otherwise what are you going to do?
Don’t worry about me. I’ll figure out something. But if you think most people in this city can afford private easily you are truly out of touch.
I mean you're making a lot of assumptions about me, but okay.
Most of the EOTP families I know could afford to move WOTP but don't because they think it's too sleepy over here. Annoying to then listen to them complain about the lottery.
wrong. I also dont believe you live Eotp. I actually do live here and send my kid to our IB even though I dont want to. Not all of us can afford a million dollar plus shitty house in AU park or further and the cost of an additional car for community purposes.

Are you kidding? #26 at SWS means you had a fantastic #! DD was 200+ at SWS and still got in somewhere...

Im just laughing out of desperation.....
You listed a lot of schools that don't take oob kids at PK3. Why?
cuz we have no IB PK3 in the ward we live....
all you do is create instability in the schools you put your kids in for 1 year of prek3 or two years, if you don't get into your IB Ward 3 school for prek4. You have ZERO intention of making a commitment to any of the schools on your list beyond a year. For those of us who decide to put our kids in these charters and improving DCPS schools, and invest time and money in making them better, I say shame on you. You drop in for a year, make no effort to become part of the parent community or do anything for the school, and as soon as you get into Janney or Mann, you bolt. I seriously do not feel the least bit sorry for you that you don't get to take one of these spots from a family that has a shitty path all the way through high school. If all you wanted was pre-k, you should have just signed up for Appletree schools.
We live in Ward 3 but spent two years of Pre-K at a Title 1 DCPS before moving on to our IB. We didn't create any more instability than the other UMC parents at the school, all of whom left before K, even though they were IB.
