Why can't SYTTD put full-figured brides in flattering dresses?? Would that be so hard?

SYTTD Canada was rebranded "Northern Edition " to try attracting more viewers.

Did anyone else see last night's episode with the Evil Mom? I wanted to cry for that poor girl. It was pretty upsetting to see. It seemed like the more negative attention the mom got the more hardline negativity she expressed about the dress that she picked out (!!!). It was such a shame because the daughter surprised herself when she loved that dress. I really felt that Randy, instead of walking away, should have asked the mom to leave or had someone from Kleinfeld's come out and remove the mom. She was horrible. I do agree with Randy that there are so many people who would love to be parents and then to see someone like this mom who was so abhorrent and unkind was awful. It is amazing to me that the young woman grew to be such a normal and apparently nice person with such a horrible role model like her mom.

Yes, I saw it - horrible woman. She even looked the part of the villainous mother. As vile as she was, I’ve seen even worse on that show before. I wonder how much is staged. For instance, the dramatic music playing while we wait to find out if a dress is available, etc. I find myself hate-watching this show and rolling my eyes throughout.

Why on God’s green earth do they continue putting large chested brides in strapless dresses with zero support? It’s a hideous look and you’d think they could steer these women in a more flattering direction. Same for the tight mermaid look when they have a big stomach. I mean, come on! There are thousands of styles out there, and plenty to flatter larger physiques.

I want to Google this episode. What was the bride's name?

I have no idea but google “Evil Mom” because I think that was the name of the episode.

Yes, "Evil Mom" is the name of the episode so it pops right up if you use the episode name and show name. They've shown some pretty nasty moms but this one takes the cake. Hard to believe the daughter is so sweet.

Totally agree. What a waste of time, taking pictures of each dress and then waiting for her “followers” to give their feedback. I couldn’t believe her parents and entourage were encouraging her! I would have been so irate had I been the consultant trying to help her find a damn dress.

Honestly, I wish young women would see how idiotic they look when they act so narcissistic and vapid. It’s embarrassing.

It’s in Canada somewhere, maybe Toronto? I hate to say it, but I cannot stand their accents.

Does anyone watch the SYTTD “Northern Edition” that comes on afterwards? I saw it tonight - the bride who had to Instagram EVERYTHING and couldn’t make a decision without her “followers’” input?? OMG, some people are so absurd.

I'm glad it wasn't just me. That woman was appalling. What made it worse was that she was so proud of herself for the way she was acting.

I agree with the dresses. Some of the styles are so inappropriate given the woman's body type, especially knowing they will be on camera and that the camera accentuates features and adds pounds. Maybe it is just me but if seems like on the dresses with especially bad fits, the camera lingers on the portion of the woman's body that looks the worst in the dress.

I love the show because I love seeing the dresses (and I can't wait until I am shopping for wedding gowns with our daughters) but there are parts about the show that I don't like. And then there are people on the show like the Evil Mom. She made me so grateful that I don't know her.

Say Yes to the Prom also annoyed me because they only chose a few kids to focus on - all the rest were just sort of ignored.
