I didn't actually tell anyone in my family that I was going to be on national TV because I had no idea how it was going to turn out and I was blogging about politics, which I don't discuss with my very large extended family. It turned out really well and I was bummed that most of my family didn't see it, but an elderly paternal uncle was watching and bragged about me for the next decade, which was gratifying.
