+ 1000

It’s a sad day when people are so wasteful that they’ll throw money away. Mr. Money Moustache is a bit too militant for me most of the time, but this thread makes me want to lurk a bit more often.

I would never in a million years sit down to roll my own coins. I can’t imagine anyone under 40 ever doing this.

Well, aren’t you a helpless little snowflake!

If every single American gave you 1 penny, you would be a millionaire.
Drop your pennies, I would pick them.

I wonder how much money accumulated in US trash collected last year. I save my pennies and quarters, take it to Navy Federal for free at their coin machine. Got a little under $300.

This is unfortunate. Money is money. Pennies made dollars. Dollars make a difference. Huge differences for others less fortunate. Throwing money away is economically and socially irresponsible. No matter how insignificant it seems. You’re wasting a resource.

These are truly 1st world problems. Pennies a day feed a starving child. Get over your feeling of looking poor and go to coin star, and help the poor.

Put all your change in a vase. When it is full..bring it to the bank. Many have coin counters for free if you have an account. A charge if you do not.$400 to 600 or so per year for us just by doing this. That is real money, people!

This idea that using Coinstar is only for poor people just astounds me. Money is money.

Where do you draw the line? Dimes? Quarters? $5 bills? What currency do you feel is "beneath" you to carry?

Dogs most certain do eat coins at times.

Coin toxicity is a billable diagnosis in the vet world.

Ok I admit to sometimes throwing change in the garbage. I do not like the jangling in my pockets. If it’s a place that takes tips I just get rid of it that way. But if I receive change any other way, adios.

Sometimes I’ll keep the quarters to put in the car.

I'd say troll, but I knew a guy in college who really did this.
