Trust me, about 70% of the people in a dc area chinese restaurant will be jewish on christmas. I always run into people from the Shul.

LOL. No. Bizzare that because you do something that you think it’s only a Jewish thing. Get out of your bubble and you’ll realize that there are folks of all faiths out there experiencing life.
I do not know if you are dense or you can not believe stuff. When I go into a Chinese Restaurant on Christmas, and I look around, instead of crosses, I see Chi's or Stars of David around necks. The people look jewish...And if you listen to the conversation, there is often some yiddish sprinkled in, particularly among those that are older. This is not everywhere. But, In Rockville, for example, it is probably 90% of the patrons. Where I go, in Fairfax County, it is somewhat lower, about 70%. Now, this will not hold true is regions devoid of jewish people. But, in the Baltimore-Washington area, there is about a quarter of a million jewish people, which is about 5% of the dc area population. I do not know how many chinese restaurants there are, but I am confident all 250,000 jews could not eat at chinese restaurants in the same day.
If we assume the area supports 1,000,000 place settings (total), and about 3% are chinese, that means there are about 30,000 place settings are chinese. Figure they can seat four people per pacesetting throughout the day, that means 120,000 people in the metro area can eat chinese food. If 30% of the jews eat chinese food, that means 75000 jews will eat chinese, or about 62% of the potential space is taken up by jews.

It is a very strong tradition in this area. Yes, everyone goes out, more now than in years past, but it is the Jewish Christmas.
Nope. Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:We had Chinese food on Christmas Eve because I didn't want to cook a big meal. We also have been going to the movies on Christmas Day for years. It's an American thing, not a Jewish thing.

And you goyim's have bastardized them, with blueberry, chocolate chip, etc. A bagel should be Plain, Salt, Onion, Garlic, Sesame, or Poppy. Or everything.
I want to see you appropriate Gefilte fish. Bwah ha ha ha.
Nothing makes me cringe harder than my molars chomping down on a salt or everything [salt] covered bagel. So gross.
That is because you have not tried Gefilte fish.
(for the record, I do not like salt bagels. maybe a bit of salt on an everything...)
Maybe we should send this poster some Gefilte fish. It is so nasty looking I refuse to eat it. My grandparents loved it. I like salt bagels every once in a while. I also like chocolate chip.Anonymous wrote:Now the Chinese restaurants and movie theaters are crowded on Christmas because this tradition among American Jews has become a "trendy" thing for non-Jews as well? Is this a form of cultural appropriation?

Anonymous wrote:Yeah, it is cultural appropriation and I will stop doing it when the Jews give up their culturally appropriated German names.
